Should you be eating yam while managing fibroids?

The truth is, there is absolutely nothing wrong with eating yam on a healthy lifestyle, but when it comes to managing fibroid, yams are a no for you.

I am quite sure you will be wondering why? Yams have a high glycaemic index, weather boiled, roasted, or even fried which is wore due to the amount and type of oil used.

Eating foods with a high glycaemic index which is a measurement of the effect of carbohydrates on your blood glucose level, has the tendency to promote fibroid growth by increasing endogenous concentrations of insulin-like growth factor-1

Simply put, uterine fibroids cells grow in the presence of insulin like growth factor-1

Managing fibroids is extremely different from weight loss and therefore must be managed differently.
